Hello! I'm new to photographix!

Hello! I've been practicing photography since I was 16. I say practicing because it is ever evolving. I began with film - worked for a newspaper, studio, and freelanced a bit - and that was all before I was 20. Currently, I am learning about strobes with the strobists, and have hooked up with Wasatch Camera Club and Photowalking Utah for info and to meet photog friends. I am currently training my 11 year old how to be my assistant. He's got a great eye! In fact, the last engagement session I did - they wanted 2 of his prints! Looking for others from Park City area.

Deb,

No, this particular image was taken in the west desert near Dugway Proving Grounds.
Best way to get there: Take I-80 toward Tooele and get off at Hwy 36. Stay on 36 through Tooele going south to Stockton. Note: fill up on fuel in Stockton then continue south to Rush Valley and take Hwy 119 over the mountain. As you approach Dugway you will see an LDS church on your left and on the south side of the church a very good dirt road heads south into the desert. I have normally seen these horses within 5 to 10 miles. A second herd usually hangs out just before Simpson Springs. Also, at Simpson Springs there is an old Pony Express outpost as well as the springs. There are supposed to be burrowing owls near the springs but I have never seen one there.
Let me know if you go out there.
Dennis
