Hi there. I've loved taking pictures for years, but finally got a dslr Canon last June and I've been clicking away even more since!
I'm still learning but I'm starting to do this as a business because people ask for pics often:)
It is so fun to do something I love and get paid to do it!
I'm happy to be on Photographix and I accept any criticism, bad or good:) haha.

- Its on the first page (main on the left hand side) you shoot anything and follow the outline , this time its black and white. You can submitt 3-5 pics.

- I'm going to take the 4 week class on landscaping and probably some more after that. I love Dougs style of teaching. He's no longer offering the the 12 week class I guess you've heard. I don't know if I can make it to photo camp. My daughter is havig her baby soon and I have a litter of Yorkie puppies due that day. have you put some pics on the collective shoot?

- Funny, I am glad you like it. This was actually my assignment of close up. It was about 8pm and I am glad that the kids work with me at that time. yes I used the flash in most of the pictures, could play more with my camera trying to find the right picture but it was getting late. Anyway I want to see how you work in your photoshop one of this days.

I think it depends on your style. I have a friend who uses only natural light and doesn't even know how to use a speed light. Another friend uses his everytime he uses a flash. The benefits to it are that is can aim the light in other directions to bonce it off different things, it sits farther away from the lense so it cuts red eye out a ton, you can use it off the camera like Doug did in class- this is my favorite way. I like to take if off camera and aim it towards something to the side to bounce it off of. to creat a softer glow rather than the harsh light. It did take me a while to use it. I finally took it to Pictureline and aked for help. You can dial in the brightness too. I haven't done that much, I want to learn that point better. Another advantage with my lense basic lense is that it is fat and kind of long (125 mm) so if I'm shooting down or close, I often will get a shadow from the lense. If I use the speed light I don't have that problem. I guess think about how you'd use it. I guess with everything if you get it and learn to use it, it can become a very valuable tool. If you don't use it, then it may be considered a waste. That probably didn't help a ton because I didn't give you a great answer. I don't always use it,but I'm glad I have it when I need it. Maybe see how much it would be to rent one before you buy one to see if you like it.

- Yes, a few were in our condo but the rest were in Heber.
