Hey Tim I was trying to comment on your shot with the guy on the tracks but it will not let me lol. So great shot by the way, It looks very cool whatever you did to it or however you shot it, nice work.
I wouldn't even dare use it on eagles, the only time the shots with it turned out was when the tripod was totally tightned down and I used me remote forthe shutter, The ones where I had it on the tripod abut loose so I good move it around came out blurry. I'm sticking with the same thing as last year for the eagles. Actually I might be in the market to buy one of those 300 f4's in a while..
Tim,
Thanks for the observation ... I actually did not notice those leaves but you are right, they tend to clutter the image ... clone them out may work best on this image.
Thanks again ... Dennis
I always enjoy talking photography, the classes we spoke about are at the Salt Lake Art Center which is part of the Salt Palace complex you should be able to find it online at www.slartcenter.org.
As far as the VA Info look at www.vab.va.gov, at the top of the page under Benefits there is a link for Post 9/11 GI Bill, farther down on the page is a header that says General Benefit Information and the third link down "Federal Benefits for Veterans and Dependants" is the benefits booklet I mentioned. It is an easy read and is full of good information. Thanks for reminding me, about this, sorry I had forgotten. Corrie
I was going to rent the nikon 80-400 but for some reason it was never shipped. I'm glad now it didn't, I used my 70-300 today and the 300 was too much at times.
You probably have some really good airplane pictures if you work at Hill Air Force Base. I was standing by a guy who is a mechanic there and he said the Thunderbirds put on a show for them yesterday. He said they were really close and had to plug their ears because of the noise.
Two thoughts on validation. First, I think an individual has to decide why they enter the fair and how they hope to benefit from it. Is it learning, is it comparing, or is it something else. Second, I know some of the State Fair Judges and have served on panels with them. I can state that they are critical but fair and each has their own biases, i.e. light, composition, creativity etc.,but try hard to give each image a full benefit of their experience. As for me I am trying to compete from a minimalist persepctive by being as thorough as I can with in camera editing and relying very little on post exposure manipulation. Have good one!
I hear that. my biggest is a 300, and no tc, so the eagles are still a pipe dream for me. I thought about renting the 400 this year for the eagles, but when I called pixels, it was going to Africa with the owner, (plus whenever I make it up the Farmington Bay, there are only a couple eagles, and they are WAY far out).
