1st Place - Humor by Scott Cornford.

Scott answered a few questions I had for him
What technical aspects of the photo did you use that you can share with us?
I wanted to get a picture with a snail since there were a lot around after a rainstorm. I used a tripod to get this shot.
When did you become interested in photography?
I got my first 110 camera when I was 8 and have loved photography since.
What is your favorite subject to shoot?
I love nature photography, of course taking pictures of my kids, and I have also had a lot of fun taking candid pictures of people.

What are your aspirations as a photographer?
I want to learn all I can about photography to become better. Being part of groups like Photographix is helping me to learn.
What is your favorite part about photography?
I like being able to relive an experience or memory by viewing a photograph.
What is your advice for fellow photographers?
Plan opportunities to take photographs. Joining a photography group has helped me. One Photowalking Utah outing I was able to hang out with Trent Nelson a SL Tribune photographer who was glad to share his knowledge with us. You can see his blog at: http://166.70.44.68/blogs/trent/
What are some interesting facts about you?
I love outdoor activities like backpacking or hiking, hanging out with my children and have been a vegan vegetarian for 16 years. I designed a GPS guided wheelchair for my SR. project at Weber State that appeared on KSL television. I work for the Federal Government maintaining computers. I have also taken up running this year and will compete in my 3rd race this October at the Las Vegas Ragnar.
