Group Trip to Yellowstone National Park - August

Looks like we have some interest to go to Yellowstone National Park in August

What about August 21-23 or 28-30 Either way I will probably Leave the Thursday before, but I know some people's schedule won't permit that

So whats Good for Everyone

Well we all made it back, I had a good time, This is Not the time of Year for Wildlife, in July I had seen 31 bear in 3 days, this time the Only Bear we saw was at 2:00 am Behind the Travel Lodge Motel, in Gardiner, MT when we were checking in, but the Company we had throughout the weekend was Outstanding, we managed to get some Bison, Rams, and a lot of Scenic Shots, and came away with some great Stories and better Friendships.

I am sure we will do it again in the Spring, and probably see more Wildlife

Well its almost time to get this Adventure underway

Joe is leaving in about 4-5 hours

Becky, Doug and I are leaving about 4:00 tomorrow

We plan is to meet in Thursday Morning about 5:30 AM at the Petrified Tree near Roosevelt Ranger Station, and to make things Simple we should probably meet there Friday about 5:30 AM also

Travel Lodge is correct, call Cindy and mention "TheVestGuy" to get a discount

Mainly from the road , there is some hiking when we go shoot the otters but its not bad

Schedule is a bit flexible but a Guide line is be in the Park at 5:00 am and leave in the evening, most of us are bringing food to eat in the park so we don't have to drive all the way back out, and lose time

My wife (margarit) and I are intrested in joining the "national geographic" adventure. Looks like the reservations are going to be at the Travel Lodge, is that correct? Should I call and make a reservation there for a room?
What will we be taking our pictures in. roadside or hiking in nature...etc. Last question...will there be a planned agenda?

I just got off the phone with a Ranger in the Park, Very Good Possibility we will see some Elk Rutting, and Bison Rutting for sure, rams are done rutting, and the Bears are thinning out and going higher up in the mountains, but there are still several out there.

Its going to be a Great Time I am sure

I am still not sure if I am going or not but don't worry about me and lodging. If I do end up going I will most likely be staying at my cabin in Island park by Moose Creek that is not to far from the park at all. But I will try to let you guys know soon enough hopefully.

I think we are going to go through Jackson Hole (The Grand Tetons), because of the Road Closure between Madison and the Upper valley, we would have do drive way down to the south end of the park anyway but we should be in the Mammoth area around 9:00 PM Thursday night at the latest.

If anyone has some FRS Radios bring them so we can keep in contact in the park, it makes it real nice, when someone wants to pull over...
