I am going back around the 3 week in August, Doug said he might go, we should get a Group together, I am sure I can get a Hotel Discount...

Man I need to head up there with you one of these days. I think that the bears that you get are just stuffed and placed. I am sure of it now. lol jk

Mark, you missed an Outstanding Trip

Well we arrived in West Yellowstone Thursday evening, and still managed to see a Coyote on the way to Mammoth went straight for Roosevelt-Tower area and was able to see a Grizzly Bear near the Petrified Tree, then a Black Bear at the Yellowstone Picnic Area.

07-10-09

5:45 am found a Black Bear on the hillside above Elk Creek area
6:30 Nice Looking moose Specimen Area
11:00 Grizzly Bear Petrified Tree
3:30 Grizzly Bear Probably the same one as 11:00 am at Petrified Tree
1:10 Yellow bellied Marmot near HooDoo's

Black Bear and cubs above Elk Creek
7:15 pm Black Bear near Floating Island


7-11-09

6:00 Grizzly Bear near Petrified Tree
7:15 2 Large Bucks near Petrified Tree
2 Coyote's at Roosevelt Ranger Station
7:20 two Black Bear came about 40-50 Yards from the Grizzly Bear at Petrified Tree
see Photos, One of the Black Bear's stopped dead in his tracks, started Sniffing and then Stood Straight up, about 30 seconds later the Grizzly Bear Stood Straight up, see Photo, then immediately But ran in Different Directions, the other Black bear wandered off as well

Black Bear all around the Roosevelt Corral Area and went up towards the Lodge
12:30 Black Bear in the Roosevelt-Rainy Lake area
1:15 Black by Elk Creek
Black Bear near Lower Tower area
Moose
Black Bear and 1 Cub at Floating Island this is where the Sow gets into the Lake and teaches the Cub to Swim, it was So Amazing, at one point the cub climbed on mom's back, and the mom had Nothing to do with it, she tossed the cub off into the water and continued swimming.
6:00 pm Black Bear Yellowstone River

7-12-09

5:45 Cow Moose at Elk Creek
6:00 BIG Bull Moose Petrified Tree area
6:45 (7) Otters) Parents and (5) Pups Trout Lake we watched the Adorable Little guys from 6:45 to about 8:15 I took over 5 Gigs of Photos, I was in Heaven watching these guys

Real Small Black Bear near Petrified Tree

Black Bear and (1) Cub at Elk Creek, cub was up a Tree

Black Bear and cub between Roosevelt and Rainy Lake

then we had to leave the park and head home

Might not be in the report but all in all we saw
29 Black bear
3 Grizzly Bear
6 Coyote's
7 Otters
4 Moose
2 Fox
1 Marmot
4 Sandhill Crane
Something I had never seen before but my Photos were not the best were Ruddy Ducks, male/Female they were so cool

tons of Bison, pronghorn, Elk
We did see a Doe and a Little fawn that was cool

there is probably more, but that all I can remember
