There are a few spots left for the Photoshop class. Please let me know if you have any questions.
I have taught many Photoshop classes. They have all been over a projector in a classroom setting. this works OK but is not ideal. The main reason it is not ideal is that most projectors will not reproduce contrast and colors accurately enough to give meaningful instruction on exact corrections. There are better projectors out there but I have found a better way. I am excited to offer Photoshop Classes online. This will be from the comfort of your own home. It will seem very much like a traditional classes without the commute.
Also, a couple of the things I'm anxious to try and am most excited about are the ability to record the class so that it can be reviewed at a later time. This way if someone can't make it, they can just replay. Also, it could be good if someone didn't understand a certain concept, they could replay it over and over. I'm not sure if it records on my computer or on gottomeeting's server.
Another thing is the ability to take control of a students computer to illustrate a technique or to see what is really going on. Sounds like it could be good if the user is experiencing problems.
The way it will work will be:
I will send you a link to join the meeting in an email.
You will follow this link and download a small script that allows your computer to communicate.
When the meeting starts. You will go to this link and be asked to join the meeting. If the meeting has not started, you will go to a virtual waiting room(sounds fun).
For the audio, you can either have a microphone and speakers on your computer or you can call a phone number and be on a conference call. I'm hoping the microphone speaker combo works.
All you need is Windows 2000 or higher or Mac and Photoshop With the exception of the audio discussed above.
The first class will be Photoshop. This is listed as basic but is really better thought of as 'the fundamental'. These are things that everyone should know. Too often as we are learning programs, such as Photoshop, we skip over some of the fundamentals and go on to some of the more advanced techniques. Without a basic understanding, we handicap ourselves. Although this is fundamentals, it will cover some intermediate techniques. Note this is not Photoshop Elements. I will offer Lightroom and an Elements class at a future date. I will rebroadcast this email when it is available. I still have a couple spots left for this class. If you are interested, please register ASAP as I am limited to the first 15 students. If you don't make it into this class, I will notify you when the next class is offered. Here is the link-

Note that I have offered this at a reduced price because this is my first class using the gotomeeting format. So, I ask for your patience and understanding especially during the first class. I would also appreciate feedback so that I can improve on it for future classes.
